An Automated Technology to Boost your Profits and Get Results

RFID Growth in Retail and Manufacturing A TECHNOLOGY YOU MUST ADOPT!

Most people have used this technology in some form, whether it's a train ticket, a concert ticket, your dog or cat maybe chipped, or for gaining access to a building.

However, when you mention the word RFID to people I frequently get a blank stare, and a confused look.

That's fine, I realise it's not the name "RFID" people want to hear it's how the technology is actually used.

One recent example was a customer of ours, who is a large public listed company with bases worldwide who uses RFID to track parts throughout the manufacturing process.

It got me thinking why a Retail or manufacturing company wouldn't implement RFID given all the benefits it can bring.

OK, there is time wasted and focus away from other projects while it's being implemented, but the benefits far outweigh these.

I think this infographic by GS1 is good for a recap on the uses of RFID and how it's being adopted in Manufacturing and Retail markets.

While this Infographic dates back to 2014, it showed then that 48.2% of manufacturers and 57% of Retailers surveyed where Currently implementing RFID. If you are not one of those companies, then you should certainly now be thinking about it in 2019.

it would be good to hear any views on how RFID is progressing in these sectors and if indeed RFID is gaining traction.
